About Breast Augmentation
The breasts are one of the defining characteristics of feminine beauty, leading many women with smaller breasts to feel self-conscious about their figures. Breast size is typically determined through genetics, but can be affected by a number of factors throughout a woman’s lifetime such as weight fluctuations or pregnancy and nursing.
During breast enlargement surgery, Dr. Halls inserts implants to increase breast size, creating a shapelier figure. The incision can be made in the armpit, following the curve of the areola around the nipple or under the breast fold for minimal scarring, and implants can be placed below the breast tissue or below both tissue and muscle. The type, shape and profile of your breast implants along with incision and implant placement can be specifically customized to meet your individual needs and goals.
- Breast Implant Options: Dr. Halls offers all available options for breast implants from Allergan®, Mentor®, and Sientra®, including saline, silicone gel, and modern “gummy bear” implants. During your consultation, Dr. Halls can explain the pros and cons of each different type, and help you choose the size, shape and profile that’s best for you.
- Breast Augmentation with Lift: Women who want to increase their breast size but notice significant droopiness or sagging in their existing breasts can often see better results by including a breast lift with their augmentation. During a breast lift, Dr. Halls reshapes your natural breast tissue and tightens the surrounding skin so that, when combined with implants, you can enjoy fuller breasts that also look perkier and more youthful.

Breast Augmentation Pricing
The cost of breast augmentation varies depending on the approach Dr. Halls takes during surgery and whether other procedures, such as a breast lift, will be included simultaneously, as well as which type of breast implants are used. The charges associated with breast augmentation surgery include Dr. Halls’ surgical fee, the cost for the surgical facility and anesthesiologist fees. After your consultation Dr. Halls’ staff will discuss surgical costs with you, including information about procedures that may be partially or fully covered by your insurance plan, so you can make an informed decision before moving forward. Typically health insurance coverage for Breast Augmentation surgery is only allowed if you have a personal history of breast cancer and the augmentation is performed in conjunction with breast reconstruction following a mastectomy or lumpectomy.
Recovery & Results
You should see a difference in your breasts right away after surgery, although the final results of your breast augmentation will become more refined throughout the recovery process. In the weeks and months following your surgery, the initial swelling will dissipate, and the appearance of scars will fade. Dr. Halls may ask you to wear an elastic bandage or special bra to support your newly-augmented breasts and help you feel more comfortable during the early stages of recovery. You will also be provided with detailed post-operative care instructions and given a date for your first follow-up appointment.
After your breast augmentation, your breasts should look larger and fuller, and will have an uplifted look if a breast lift was included at the same time. As your body heals, your new breast implants will settle into their final position for a beautifully enhanced yet natural look.
