Breast Augmentation with Lift

For many women seeking to improve the contour and shape of their breasts, combining a breast lift and breast augmentation may be the best option. The combination of these two procedures can provide an increase in volume plus an uplifted profile, plus the added benefit of a single surgery and recovery period.

About Combining Procedures

Many women hope that breast implants will help their breasts look perky and full after surgery. While a breast augmentation does give you larger breasts, breast implants alone won’t change the placement or position of your existing breasts. And, while a breast lift can adjust and even out your natural breasts, a lift will not increase your cup size. Combining these separate but complementary procedures in a single surgery can create the full, uplifted look that so many women hope for following breast enhancement.

optionsWith breast augmentation surgery, clinically referred to as augmentation mammoplasty, implants are inserted behind the breast tissue in order to increase cup size and give the breasts a fuller, curvier look. If you choose to include a breast lift with your augmentation surgery, Dr. Halls will also lift and reshape your breasts, and remove fatty deposits and glandular tissue as needed to give you higher, firmer breasts and a younger-looking silhouette. He may also adjust the size and placement of your nipples and areolas and correct any unevenness.

While breast augmentation and breast lifts are separate procedures, there are benefits to scheduling both together at the same time. If both surgeries are performed at once, you can enjoy a single recovery period for both the lift and augmentation, and your final results can reflect the best of both breast enhancement procedures: a larger cup size plus firmer, higher breasts. Dr. Halls will explain more about the advantages of combining procedures during your consultation.

The cost of combining a breast augmentation and lift varies depending on the approach Dr. Halls takes during surgery, but typically costs slightly more than either surgery performed alone. The charges that are associated with your breast enhancement include Dr. Halls’ surgical fee, the cost for the surgical facility, and anesthesiologist fees. After your consultation Dr. Halls’ staff will discuss surgical costs with you, including information about procedures that may be allowed by your insurance plan or are self-pay, so you can make an informed decision before moving forward.

Recovery & Results

After your combination breast augmentation and lift, you can expect to see an immediate change in your figure that should only improve as your recovery continues. Dr. Halls may ask you to wear an elastic bandage or special bra to support your breasts in their new position and help you feel more comfortable during the early stages of recovery.

Over the course of several months, your swelling will dissipate and you can expect the appearance of scarring to fade as your new implants settle into position. You will also be provided with detailed post-operative care instructions and given a date for your first follow-up appointment.

When a breast lift is included with your breast augmentation, you’ll gain extra volume as your existing breast tissue is lifted and reshaped in a way that perfectly complements your implants. Breasts should look higher and fuller, giving you a profile that’s uplifted and more curvaceous all at the same time.
